• Cruise on the Thonburi canals

  • Thonburi is the only district in the capital of Thailand that has retained the old atmosphere of Bangkok. Once it was called Venice of the East, and the main means of transport were boats moving on hundreds of small canals. Most of the canals have been overwhelmed and turned into roads. However, many larger khlongs (canals) have been preserved in Thonburi covering the west area of the Chao Phraya River. People live here as a life contrasting with the mad pace of the rest of the city, often living in houses on stilts. Here we will see what Bangkok looked like before the channels were filled up understanding how the culture of the water fair was created.
